Henry DeTamble is a librarian who travels involuntarily through time, pulled away from the present without warning. Clare Abshire is an artist who has known him since she was a child, because he kept appearing in her life.
A love story about waiting, loss and the strange arithmetic of a marriage in which one partner is never quite sure when he will be. A modern classic and a book club favourite.
