For a young woman who just wants to get her first kiss out of the way, a rugby player seems like the perfect mismatch. But a kiss is never just a kiss. Soraya has just graduated from college when she meets Magnus.
She’s the daughter of Iranian immigrants, and he’s kind of boring. They don’t really have anything in common. Or do they? Once she gets to know Magnus, she finds his depth of character.
Soraya’s mother Neda also knows what it’s like to feel mismatched. She left Iran with her husband in the wake of revolution, and the aftershocks of that decision are still being felt decades later. A pitch-perfect coming-of-age story about first love and the search for identity.
