Samantha Kofer's career at a big New York law firm ends overnight when the 2008 financial crisis hits. Offered a chance to keep a foothold by working for free, she ends up at a legal aid clinic in a small Appalachian town.
There she meets lawyers fighting the coal companies and finds that the stakes are far higher than anything she has handled before. A John Grisham legal thriller with a cause at its heart.
